About this place
At Kushibun, you can order an omakase selection of skewers served one after another and stop whenever you like, or choose individual items from the menu. If you are unsure where to start, omakase lets you enjoy the progression; you can also order particular skewers à la carte. One diner reported that a set of 10 skewers included 1 fish skewer, with the rest made up of vegetables and sausage. If you would prefer to focus on fish or meat, choosing individual items may be a better option.
Individual skewers are listed at 1 to 220 yen for 110 skewers, including tax. Prawns and beef (misuji, or top-blade) are 220 yen, while conger eel and squid are 150 yen. Vegetables include Manganji pepper at 150 yen and lotus root at 200 yen. One diner singled out the prawn kushi-katsu; another said the vegetable skewers had a light coating, were served piping hot and were crisp to bite into. A separate visitor praised the fine breadcrumbs and small skewers, adding that the wide choice of vegetables made it easy to try different flavours.
For a beer with your skewers, the menu lists draft Asahi Super Dry at 480 yen by the glass and 600 yen for a medium mug. To round off the meal, there is rice, seasoned rice cooked with mixed ingredients, and ochazuke with nori, ume or salmon; today's dessert is also listed. The menu offers room to build a meal around a few skewers or finish with a rice dish.
